April 15, 2008: New members and Staff increase
FEPI is proud to announce that the Italian Federation (FEDERLEGNO- ARREDO URBANO) and the Spanish National Federation (AFAMOUR) have become new members.
It has also been decided to strengthen FEPI Secretariat by increasing the personnel number and consequently employ an operational manager: Ms. Maria Orejas
November 28, 2007: FEPI's President, Mr.Thomas Berfenfeldt, Presentation at the European Commission Platform on Diet, Physical Activity and Health
The last Platform meetings in November 14/15th were devoted to discuss how to promote physical activity amongst european citizens.The 14th November workshop focused on best practices and concrete examples of what works. FEPI has presented different sucessful projects implemented by play manufacturers in schools aimed at increasing physical activity.
April 25, 2007: European Forum on Children's Rights
The first European Forum on Children's Rights, co-organised by the European Commission and the Council Presidency, will be held on 4 June in Berlin.
December 5, 2006: FEPI is a new member of the EU platform on Diet, Physical Activity and Health
Since September 2006, FEPI has been granted full membership of the EU Platform on Diet, Physical Activity and Health. FEPI commitment to the Platform is to make feasibility studies in several EU Member States in order to understand whether we can set up a Capital of Play Award, on the basis of the "Prix de la Ville Ludique" which has already been organised for 2 years by our French Federation.
This Capital of Play Award aims at sensitizing local authorities to the importance of a playgrounds' offer answering to the needs of their local children's population, by communicating about local authorities that develop the best playground policies.

Who Are We ?
The Federation Of the European Play Industry is a non-profit association at European level comprising European-based companies and European national play industries federations.
FEPI represents the interests of the most responsible manufacturers and distributors of both outdoor and indoor play equipment and safety surfacing.
The products can rank from inflatable structure to traditional slides, swings and everything in between.
History
The Federation of the European Play Industry has been officially created in 2002 in Noordwijk (Netherlands) by a combined effort of the major industries in the play market.
Mission Statement
The main purposes of FEPI are:
- To raise awareness of the importance of children's play for all the well being of children at the European level.
- To provide its members with permanent information on all European regulations, i.e. proposes laws, political decisions and pending decisions.
- To assist its members in their relations with the institutions of the European Union.
- To organise seminars and international conferences.
- To represent the interests of the European Play Industry vis-à-vis the European institutions, and the international organisations.
- To represent its member firms, as far as possible, vis-à-vis the European Court of Justice.
